Every year, the first of May is a good meeting with workers, with their problems and their legitimate aspirations
The first of May 2011 is to remind the 4.91 million unemployed and their families who are deprived of one of the most precious: labor.
So is to show social rejection biggest cut in the history of our democracy, precarious employment and lack of opportunities to find jobs with stability and opportunity to develop their professional and personal project.
A million and a half long-term unemployed, more than two million women unemployed and 900,000 young unemployed are clear evidence of the failure of a political project and a patent exhausted inability of socialist government, resigned to accept a social fracture unacceptable for millions of English.
The Socialist government passed labor reforms focused on the dismissal in the most absolute solitude and social policy. Neither unions nor employers or political groups considered viable labor measures. The Popular Party had more than seventy steps to reach an agreement that could strengthen the functioning of the labor market and to support future businesses and workers rights. But not a single accepted.
From the Popular Party we sympathize with workers and their families and other social policy assert that it is possible, a policy focused on employment and which helped bring the creation of 5 million jobs, based on social dialogue and sound economic policy with strong growth and sustained, can ensure better pensions and strengthen our welfare state.
People's Party will continue to work to open in our country a new horizon of opportunities and Spain to recover the path of growth and employment that should never leave.
